Forget about "traditional" paraffin candles
We all love the ambiance candlelight can create. Whether it is in a boutique, hotel, restaurant or in your own home a candle is a staple of sophistication.
And yet, “traditional” paraffin candles do have a few expensive setbacks especially as compared to soy candles:
- For one, traditional paraffin candles release a lot of soot that is difficult to get rid of, oftentimes damaging property.
Paraffin is a petroleum by-product and the University of South Florida showed that the soot particles released from most modern candles release ultrafine particles that are associated with allergies, asthma, and other respiratory diseases, as well as even heart attacks, strokes, and cancer.
- One more downside is that the scent would come in sporadic waves because paraffin burns at a high temperature.
