When New York Live Came to the Atelier: A Moment with NBC
There are moments in the life of a business that invite us to reflect on how far we have come. Sometimes, they arrive unexpectedly, in the form of an opportunity that brings a familiar creative process into an entirely new setting. For Artisane, welcoming the team from NBC's New York Live into our world of fragrance and candle making was one of those moments.
On September 29, we had the pleasure of filming a special segment with New York Live, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the Artisane experience and sharing the philosophy that has shaped our atelier from the beginning. What is usually an intimate gathering centered around fragrance, creativity, and connection became an opportunity to introduce our approach to a wider New York audience.
Bringing the Artisane Experience to the Screen
At Artisane, candle making has never been simply about pouring wax into a vessel. Our experiences are designed around the art of fragrance, inviting guests to explore scent as a form of personal expression and discover how different notes can evoke memories, emotions, and atmospheres.
For the filming, we recreated the essential elements of our signature experience, from the carefully curated fragrance selection to the materials and presentation that define the Artisane aesthetic. The intention was to share not only how a candle is made, but also what makes the creative process so engaging.
At the heart of the experience is a simple invitation: to slow down, trust your senses, and create something uniquely your own.
Guests are introduced to a selection of fragrances, encouraged to discover their preferences, and guided through the process of creating a scented candle. There is no single correct combination, no expectation of artistic expertise, and no pressure to achieve a particular result. The beauty of the experience lies in the freedom to explore, experiment, and discover.
Translating that experience for television was an exciting exercise in itself. Fragrance is an invisible medium, one that cannot be communicated through a screen in quite the same way as color, texture, or sound. Yet the gestures, reactions, conversations, and creative decisions that surround scent tell a story of their own.
The Art of Making Something Personal
One of the reasons we love sharing candle making with new audiences is that it offers an accessible introduction to the fascinating world of perfumery.
A fragrance can be bright and refreshing, warm and enveloping, floral and delicate, or deep and mysterious. Sometimes, the most interesting discoveries happen when notes that seem unrelated come together to create an unexpected harmony.
The process encourages curiosity and individuality. Two people presented with the same selection of fragrances may create entirely different compositions, each reflecting their own tastes, associations, and memories.
This is what makes the experience so personal. The candle becomes more than a beautiful object; it carries the story of its creation, the choices made along the way, and the memory of the moment in which it was crafted.
For us, sharing this creative philosophy with New York Live was an opportunity to highlight a side of candle making that goes beyond the finished product.
A Special Moment for a New York Business
Building an independent creative business in New York City is an experience filled with ambition, challenges, experimentation, and constant evolution. From the earliest workshops to the corporate gatherings, private celebrations, and hospitality experiences we host today, Artisane has grown through a commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship and the belief that meaningful experiences have a lasting place in people's lives.
Over time, our atelier has traveled into some of the city's most distinctive spaces, transforming offices, residential lounges, and event venues into temporary settings for creativity and connection.
Having the opportunity to share that journey with a program dedicated to discovering the people, places, and experiences that make New York special was particularly meaningful.
It was also a reminder of something we deeply value: that there is an audience for experiences rooted in craftsmanship, curiosity, and genuine human connection.
Behind the Scenes at the Atelier
Preparing for a television shoot brought a different rhythm to the familiar Artisane setup. Every detail, from the fragrance presentation to the placement of the vessels and the flow of the experience, was considered with the camera in mind, while remaining faithful to the atmosphere we aim to create for our guests.
Behind the finished images is always a great deal of preparation, teamwork, and attention to detail. The same is true of every Artisane experience, whether we are welcoming a small private group or hosting a larger corporate gathering.
What made this occasion especially enjoyable was the opportunity to see our work through a different lens and to share the process with people discovering it for the first time.
We are grateful to the New York Live team for their interest in Artisane and for spending time with us exploring the world of fragrance and candle making.
Looking Ahead
As Artisane continues to evolve, our purpose remains the same: to create sensorial experiences that invite people to connect with themselves, with one another, and with the beauty of making something by hand.
Whether through a private workshop, a corporate gathering, a residential experience, or an unexpected opportunity in front of the camera, we are always looking for new ways to share that philosophy.
Our day with New York Live was a wonderful milestone in that journey, and one we are delighted to share with our community.
